Go Jump in the Lake 5k - Margaret Rudd

It's almost time once again for Labor Day weekend festivities in Brunswick County, and the fun starts with one of our area's favorite annual events. Go Jump in the Lake, a 5K run and day filled with festivities is the perfect place to have some healthy, local fun as summer winds down. The event is organized by the Southport Rotary Club and supports a variety of good local causes. It's a fun, family-friendly event, and a great chance to give back to the community. Our REALTORS® are lacing up their running shoes, and we've got all of the details on Go Jump in the Lake for 2019.

Boiling Spring Lake: Go Jump in the Lake August 31st

Date/Time: Saturday, August 31, 2019 – 5K Run Begins at 9 a.m.

Location: Spring Lake Park – 210 Pine Road, Boiling Spring Lake, NC 28461

  • A 5K Run and Full Day of Family Fun
Shopping for Boiling Spring Lake homes for sale connects you with a community that cares about its residents, and knows how to show it. The Go Jump in the Lake 5K run is an excellent example of the togetherness and community fun that you'll find throughout the year in Boiling Spring Lake. The 5K is open to participants of all ages and starts at 9 a.m. after pre-race registration closes. There will also be a 1.5-mile run kicking off just after the 5K begins. After the race, there will be awards for the best times—and the best splashes. The finish line is set up just before the lake so that you can take the plunge right after finishing the course.

  • An Inviting Course for All Experience Levels
While you can certainly aim to beat your personal best or take home awards at the end of the race, this doesn't have to be a serious run. Go Jump in the Lake is open to everyone, whether you're a regular runner or want to support a good cause while having fun in the process. The course is mostly flat and takes place on paved surfaces, so it's easy to move at whatever speed works for you. Of course, everyone is encouraged to jump in the lake just past the finish line, but getting wet is not a requirement.

  • Organized by the Southport Rotary Club
Go Jump in the Lake is a Labor Day weekend tradition in Boiling Spring Lakes, and it wouldn't be possible without the Southport Rotary Club. The Rotary Club organizes the event, recruits volunteers, helps everyone have a great time, and makes sure that all proceeds go toward local causes.

  • Have Fun and Raise Money for Local Causes
As always, funds from the race will go toward local causes, including the New Hope Clinic, which provides quality medical care to people in need throughout Brunswick County. Funds from this year's race will also go toward helping the area recover from the damage caused by Hurricane Florence.

  • Register Online or In-Person Up Until Race Day
Looking to get involved with Go Jump in the Lake this year? You can register online at any time, with discounts for military members, first responders, and children ten years of age or younger. You'll get a souvenir shirt for signing up, and proceeds from your registration benefit local causes.
