Art around Southport

There's no better way to celebrate Inspire Your Heart with Art Day on January 31st than by visiting local galleries and studios. Art lovers searching for Southport homes for sale often ask about where to find the perfect piece to help make their new house a home. Our real estate agents enjoy supporting local artists, so here are a few of our fave galleries and studios.

  1. Southport Mudpuddle Pottery Studio, 4002 Executive Park Blvd SE, Ste. 600B (rear), Southport, NC 28461
    This cool co-op features six local artists who make unique handcrafted pottery. Check it out and pick up a one-of-a-kind piece mug or vase to complement your kitchen or living room. Mudpuddle Pottery Studio is open by appointment and the first and third Saturdays of each month from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, and Tuesdays from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.
  2. Uncorked by the Sea Wine Shop & Gallery, 602 N. Howe St., Southport, NC 28461
    Sip on a glass of vino or a beer while checking out all types of artwork by hand-picked local and regional artists. Want to connect with other art and wine lovers in the community? Enjoy wine, art, and good company Thursday nights at Uncorked by the Sea's weekly wine tasting events! Donations support local Brunswick County charities.
  3. Lantana's Gallery & Fine Gifts, 113 S. Howe St., Southport, NC 28461
    This fun, family-owned art gallery & shop features local and regional fine art, including jewelry, paintings, pottery, hand-blown glass, sculpture, and more. Throw a selection of all-natural soaps, lotions, perfumes, candles, and all types of items in the mix, and you've got the perfect place to find a gift for yourself or that special someone. Lantana's Gallery & Fine Gifts even offers local delivery!
  4. Franklin Square Gallery, 130 E. West St., Southport, NC 28461
    Located in the historic district of downtown Southport, the Franklin Square Gallery is a nonprofit cooperative featuring more than 100 local and regional artists at any given time. From workshops to lecture series to fundraisers & kids' community events, it's a cornerstone of the Southport arts community. It's important to note that they do take a holiday break from Christmas until the beginning of March.
  5. First Friday Gallery Walk, (Various Southport galleries)
    From 5 pm – 7 pm on the first Friday of each month, a multitude of galleries in the Southport area are open so the public can browse, shop, chat, and take in all that local artists have to offer. Admission is free, everyone is welcome, and lots of galleries serve snacks and drinks at this community-oriented cultural event.
