Looking for fun ways to fill your summer? Here are some things to do in Southport!

Summer is a time for relaxing, spending time outdoors, and enjoying fun adventures with family and friends. If you've been thinking about buying one of the beautiful Southport homes for sale, you'll want to take some time to get to know the area and explore the local culture.

There are many ways to enjoy some summer fun in the Southport area. We asked our real estate agents about their favorite things to do on their days off, and here's are a few of their recommendations.

  • Surf Tours of Southport: 203 E. Bay St. Southport, NC 28461
If you want to learn more about the area, you'll definitely want to check out Surf Tours of Southport. They offer one-hour tours that are tailored to your specific interests. Whether you want to view some of the area's historic landmarks, see filming locations for multiple popular TV shows and movies, or get a glimpse of some stunning architecture, there's a tour for that. You can also tour local eateries or take the "Ghost & Love Stories" tour.

These tours take place in a uniquely modified six-passenger golf cart and can accommodate one to five passengers. They're very affordable, extremely informative, and guaranteed to be a good time.
  • Silver Coast Winery: 6680 Barbeque Rd. Ocean Isle Beach, NC 28469
Nothing says summer fun quite like sipping your favorite wine while overlooking a vineyard. The Silver Coast Winery is a boutique European-style winery that's less than an hour's drive from Southport. When you visit, you can learn about winemaking and taste their award-winning wines. You'll also want to check out their art gallery, which features beautiful work by local artists.

If you don't want to travel, you'll be glad to know they also have a Southport location. It's located in beautiful downtown at 105 A South Howe Street. Here, you'll be able to enjoy both wine and craft beer tastings and explore their on-site art gallery.
  • Southport Summer Market: Franklin Square Park 130 E. West St. Southport, NC 28461
Every Wednesday from 8 am to 1 pm, you'll be able to enjoy shopping for fresh produce, baked goods, herbs, and flowers at the Southport Summer Market. They also offer a variety of arts and crafts for sale by local vendors. This popular market begins on June 2nd each year and continues through September 29th.
  • Oak Island Summer Concert Series: Middleton Park 4610 E. Dolphin Dr. Oak Island, NC 28465
The annual Oak Island Summer Concert Series is back at Middleton Park! This 16-week series runs from May through September and features a wide variety of musical talent. You'll find everything from dance music and bluegrass to classic rock and reggae. The concerts are held every Friday from 6:30 to 8:30 pm and are free to attend.
  • High Tide Aviation Scenic Air Tours: 4345 Airport Rd. SE Southport, NC 28461
Want to see the Southport area in a whole new way? Schedule a scenic helicopter or airplane tour with High Tide Aviation! This is by far the best way to experience the Cape Fear region. You can choose from a Beaches Tour, Lighthouse Tour, St. James Tour, Bald Head Tour, Oak Island Tour, and more! This is the perfect way to get to know the area or to simply take in the beauty of your new hometown.
