If you're in the exploratory mood, take one of these compelling Southport tours to learn about its history.

Southport is a lovely spot for vacationers and individuals interested in making this quaint spot their first or second home. See all the natural beauty and interesting spaces that Southport and the surrounding areas have to offer by taking one of these local tours.

  • A Nicholas Sparks Tour
Multiple Nicholas Sparks films have been set in the Brunswick Islands area. With 24 miles of gorgeous beaches and enchanting coastal communities, it's no surprise that this area serves as a consistent inspiration for love and romance. See these spots by embarking on a self-guided Nicholas Sparks tour.

"Every Breath" was inspired by the Kindred Spirit Mailbox on Sunset Beach. This mailbox is filled with journals and pens that invite visitors to share their stories with the world.

The city of Southport is featured in the film versions of "A Walk to Remember" and the novel and film adaptations of "Safe Haven."

Stop by the Old Smithville Burying Ground and stargaze. Or, visit the Riverwalk Gazebo where Jamie and Landon share a romantic moment in "A Walk to Remember."

Stroll through downtown Southport to see many stores and restaurants that make an appearance in Safe Haven. Have a meal at the Ports of Call restaurant where Katie and Alex have dinner together.
  • A Historical Bald Head Island Tour
Bald Head Island is approximately 45 minutes away from Southport. The Bald Head Island Historical tour is taken via a golf cart and explores four centuries of Bald Head Island history.

Some of the topics explored on the tour include piracy, colonization, the Old Baldy Lighthouse, and how Bald Head island was developed into a destination for tourism.

Your tour ticket includes admission to the Smith Island Museum of History and the Old Baldy Lighthouse.
  • A Brunswick Island Air Tour
