Love at First Bite

Not sure where to take your sweetie this Valentine's Day?  Don't worry, we have got you covered!  We have scoured all of Brunswick Islands for the cream of the crop fine dining experiences.  Make this year a Valentine's Day your partner will never forget!

Island Way

  • Island Way is one of Oak Island's premier fine dining experiences.  Coined for boasting "The only thing we overlook is the ocean", Island Way's oceanfront dining has some of the best views the east coast has to offer. Serving high-quality seafood, steaks, and mouthwatering soup and pasta options, this choice will do anything but disappoint your Valentine.

Salt 64

  • Salt 64 is yet another local favorite here on Oak Island. From their housemade dressing, aged center-cut steaks, fresh local seafood, and exquisite drink and dessert menu, we know this place will please any eater looking for a fine dining experience!

Koko Cabana

  • Koko Cabana is located right on the Oak Island Pier. This restaurant not only has amazing locally caught seafood but has some of the most creative dishes we have seen on this side of the Mississippi! Don't forget to try their extensive beer, wine, and signature cocktails menu!

Oliver's on the Cape Fear

  • Oliver's on the Cape Fear is where "Southern cuisine and exceptional wines and spirits meet the salubrious breezes of the Southport air". This family-owned and operated restaurant is known for its timeless menu, outstanding hospitality, and breathtaking views of the Cape Fear River.

Joseph's Italian Bistro

  • Overlooking the Intracoastal waterway, Joseph's offers delicious Italian Cuisine and a comprehensive array of premier wine and spirits. If you want romance, candlelit dinners, and authentic Italian, this is the place for you.

Ports of Call Bistro

  • You may remember this pick from the critically acclaimed movie, Safe Haven. Ports of Call Bistro not only was the home to a scene in that movie, but it is home to some of the best fine dining experiences in Southport! Their globally inspired menu is the perfect fine dining choice for adventurous eaters.

Christopher's Steakhouse

  • Christoper's Steakhouse and Seafood is a locally owned and operated business located in Leland, North Carolina. They serve hand-cut steaks, ribs that will "fall right off the bone", made-from-scratch sides, freshly baked bread, and much, much more!

Jink's Creek

  • Jink's Creek Waterfront Grille is located in Ocean Isle Beach, North Carolina. Just a quick 30-minute drive lies one of our favorite waterfront dining experiences. Jink's Creek is known for their outstanding seafood dishes, classic surf and turf, and showstopping salads.

The Oyster Rock

  • The Oyster Rock lies in Calabash, North Carolina.  This fine dining, waterfront experience will make you want to come back for more!  Their menu is made the "old school way" from scratch.  Don't miss out on their "The Hummus Dinger" and their "Chicken and the Deep Blue" plates which are highly raved about.

The Brentwood

  • Just south of the North Carolina state line lies Little River, South Carolina. Little River boasts many award-winning local restaurants and cuisine. The Brentwood Restaurant and Wine Bistro is a European-inspired restaurant that won the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence in 2022. Their use of local cuisine and flavors is a big reason why they have locals and others alike flocking to nab a dinner reservation. Their surf and turf options are not to be overshadowed by their extensive dessert menu.

Bald Head Island Coastal Reserve-Margaret Rudd & Associates

There are plenty of beautiful places to visit in North Carolina, but few can compare to the majestic grandeur of the barrier islands and the N.C. Coastal Reserve & National Estuarine Research Reserve. Their peaceful serenity has lured everyone from sailors to scholars for centuries.

The past year was an eventful one for the area, and while the winds and waves of Hurricane Florence left their mark, it wasn't enough to dampen the spirit of residents or dissolve their resolve to make Bald Head Island the state's most popular destination. It is because of their efforts that demand for Bald Head Island homes for sale is as strong as ever.

Bald Head Island Badwater Race

Movie buffs might know the name "Cape Fear" from the 1991 Martin Scorsese film of the same name, itself a remake of a 1962 thriller.  Of course, the real Cape Fear is a tidewater region of North Carolina anchored by the historic city of Wilmington.

For athletes, Cape Fear's reputation is built on something else entirely.

The Badwater Cape Fear race occurs annually on Bald Head Island in March: This year, it's happening on March 17. It includes both 50-kilometer and 51-mile race options and is well known as a challenging, yet invigorating event.
